Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.   253-254-9534.

Dave Mackenzie will come out to your home and walk around your house with you.  He will discuss your scope of work and what products he recommends for the work you want done.   He will then write up a detailed bid, including photos, descriptions of each area being painted, and a list of all products to be used.  Our bids include all labor and materials.   The bid is a fixed rate and does not change unless you add additional work.

We highly recommend you go to the paint store and get sample colors to try out on your interior walls or exterior siding.  Choosing colors from the paper chip at the store or looking at them on a computer screen does not accurately reflect what the color will look like when painted.  You will be emailed a "Customer Color Form" after you contract your painting with us.  Once your colors are chosen, you will fill out the form provided and email it or text it back to Anne Barton.

For exteriors, the bids include three colors:  One for the siding, one for the trim, and one accent color.   Please note, unless otherwise discussed with the estimator and included in your bid, soffits are painted the same color as the siding.

For interiors, the bids include two colors.  However, you can certainly add as many colors as you'd like.  There is an added cost of $100 per color.  This is to cover the additional paint purchase and the extra time it takes for the crew to clean their equipment to ready it for a new color.

Unless you add work to your original scope, there is never an increase to your bid. Here are some things that customers will sometimes decide to add:

  • Additional Colors.
  • Accent Walls.
  • Trim.
  • Doors.
  • Second color for soffits.

Many times these are already in your bid if they were discussed at your meeting with the estimator.  This is just a list of commonly added things after the crew gets started.

Interior Preparation:

  • Remove all wall decorations.  If you want to re-hang them in the same place, leave the nail and our crew will paint around it. If you are not putting the item back on the wall, remove the nail/screw and our crew will fill the hole in before painting.
  • All electronics are to be unplugged and moved.  Our crews do not uninstall and reinstall electronics.
  • All furniture is to be moved to the middle of the room with approximately 3 feet of clearance between wall and items in the room to allow the crew sufficient access.  If a piece of furniture is too heavy, the Barmac Painters team can move the item once you remove all items it may contain.
  • If you have any animals, please keep them in a safe area that will not be in the way of the painters or their supplies.
  • All areas being painted are to be clean of debris/dirt before we arrive.

Exterior Preparation:

  • Customer to remove all vegetation from touching the house, as to not let the vegetation to get painted and stuck to the home.
  • All items that are within 3-4 ft from home that can be moved will need to be moved by customer to ensure no overspray on items or to cause hazardous/unsafe working conditions.
  • All animals are to be in secure areas away from painting project.
  • Identify which windows (if wood) open and close before project begins with Barmac Painters crew lead to ensure same function after work is completed.
  • All windows/doors closed as to not allow any water/paint to access home. If there is an area that does not seal 100% we need to know before we start so we can adjust accordingly.

Yes, we do.   You can click on the link below or under the financing tab above to apply or to get more information.  This is a soft credit pull and will not affect your credit score if you are declined or if you are approved but decide not to use it.  If you move forward with financing, the money will be provided to you directly and Barmac Painters will invoice you for the work when it has been completed.
